Shamrock epoxy coaster

S23E05 Shamrock epoxy coaster

Today I want to share with you a project that I recently worked on - a CNC wood epoxy shamrock coaster. This project was a lot of fun and resulted in a beautiful and functional coaster that is perfect for St. Patrick's Day or any time of the year.

To begin with, I used a CNC machine to carve out a shamrock-shaped mold from a piece of wood. This step required some knowledge of CNC programming, but luckily there are many resources available online to help with this process. Once the mold was complete, I mixed up some epoxy resin and added a green dye to give it a festive shamrock color.

After pouring the resin into , I waited for it to cure. The curing process takes a 24-48 hours, but it's important to be patient and let the resin harden completely . Once it was ready, I carefully sanded down any rough edges.

The finished product was a beautiful and sturdy coaster that can hold up even the heaviest of drinks. The wood base gives the coaster a natural and rustic feel, while the epoxy resin adds a touch of color and shine.

Overall, this project was a great way to combine my love of CNC machining with a fun and festive holiday theme. If you have access to a CNC machine and some wood and epoxy resin, I highly recommend giving this project a try. Not only is it a fun way to create something unique, but it's also a great conversation starter when you have guests over.

Thanks for reading, and happy crafting!
